The organizers of the annual musical event announced the full nomination for the 2021 edition of the awards and Lil Tjay was expecting to bag his first BET awards nomination, but was snubbed by the organizers.
This year’s edition of the awards is expected to have a full audience in attendance with the organizers and BET working closely to ensure that people who will be granted to attend the event are fully vaccinated.
Some notable names like The Weeknd, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Drake, Burna Boy, Chris Brown, DaBaby, Jack Harlow, DJ Khaled, the late Pop Smoke, Nas, Summer Walker, Wizkid, H.E.R, Pooh Shiesty, 21 Savage, Young Thug, SZA, Migos and a lot more all made it to the nomination list this year.
Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt wondered why upon all that works he did in 2020, the organizers of the BET Awards failed to recognized his efforts in the year under review hence snubbing him in the upcoming event.
He took to the story line of his official Instagram page to express his frustrations and disappointments in the award scheme stating ‘@BET when ima get nominated for some sh^t‘.
Signed to Columbia Records, Lil Tjay had an amazing running in 2020 dropping a couple of hit songs which really made the airwaves. He recently revealed that one of his biggest song ‘Headshot’ which features colleague rappers Polo G and Fivio Foreign is now ‘GOLD’ certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
