Diddy Has Entered the Bennifer Chat With a Throwback Instagram

Jennifer Lopez's exes can't stop thinking about her, apparently.

Last month, the 51-year-old star reconnected with her former fiancé, Ben Affleck (the couple formerly known as Bennifer were together from 2002 until 2004 during their first go-around). Now, another of Lopez's famous exes, Sean "Diddy" Combs, has made it clear that he's been reminiscing about their time together, too.

On Thursday, the rapper and producer, 51, shared a throwback picture of himself and Lopez in Los Angeles circa 2000 (back when he was known as "Puff Daddy"), when they were a couple. Lopez and Combs dated off and on from 1999 until early 2001. In the photo, Lopez is seen wearing a white turtleneck sweater and jeans and holding hands with Combs, who is wearing a grey Sean Jean hoodie and matching sweatpants.

The mere fact that the post exists makes it clear that J.Lo is on his mind, but Combs gave fans zero details about what specific thoughts he's having about his famous ex, simply captioning the post, "#tbt."

This isn't the first time Combs has made it clear he still thinks about his ex. In 2019, he slid into the comment section of a sexy, ab-baring picture on J.Lo's Instagram with a reaction flirty enough that he apparently felt the need to apologize to Lopez's then-fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, for sharing it.

"He wrote Alex after. He was like, 'I didn't mean anything by it. I have nothing but respect for you guys. I'm so happy for you guys,'" Lopez told Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club of the incident. "We were together so many years ago. It's just like…we were kids, you know?"

Even though Lopez and Combs are clearly on good terms now as friends, a romantic reunion a la Bennifer 2.0 seems unlikely, given comments she's made about the tumultuous relationship in the past.

"It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful. I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy and going nuts, it really took my whole life in a tailspin," Lopez told Vibe magazine of the relationship in 2003 (per People).

Lopez said at the time that she didn't think Combs believed they were over for good when she ended the relationship (which she described as "torrid") in February 2001. "I had to think, do I want to be home with kids in 10 years wondering where somebody is at three in the morning?"
